What makes the Knowledge Base credible?

The US Food and Drug Adminstration Agency has a very useful website that informs people about what constitutes a reliable and credible website for health information on the internet.  We recommend that you read it.

Our website has been developed to meet these standards so that you can be assured that the information it contains is from evidence-based and reliable sources.  At the end of the day, our own families' health relies on these standards being met or exceeded.

For example, the Harmony Cuisine Knowledge Base is a resource of clinically researched medical and nutritional information which has been compiled from four internationally recognised sources:

  • Medline - an online database of 11 million citations and abstracts from health and medical journals
  • PubMed - a service of the US National Library of Medicine that includes over 16 million health and medical citations
  • The Cochrane Library - a regularly updated collection of evidence-based medicine databases
  • The British Library - the national collection of over 13 million books and almost 1 million journal articles

These sources are used by clinicians and have been systematically reviewed. All the information on the Knowledge Base has been further reviewed by our team of leading UK dieticians who are all registered with the British Dietetic Association and the Health Professions Council.
